1) Why do you want to join NATO? Because It looked like a nice alliance

2) If you were in an alliance previous to applying to NATO, why did you leave?

3) Are you now or have you ever been on any alliance Perma ZI or ZI list (these are punishments doled out by alliances that you have seriously pissed off; basically, if an alliance really wants to punish you, they may sentence you to be attacked until your nation's infrastructure level is zero, or they may even attempt to keep it at zero infrastructure indefinitely)? If so give details please.

Welcome to the NATO Cadet Aspirant Training!

In this CAT program, you will learn the basic essentials for succeeding in CyberNations.  As a NATO Cadet, you are entitled to our protection.  However, you are not considered a full member of the alliance until you complete all lessons of this trainingYou will also receive a $24 million aid package upon graduating from the CAT.

If you now feel you have not made the right choice in joining NATO, please post that you are leaving in this thread.  Otherwise, we look forward to having you among us!

You may notice your name on the forums is in the color white.  You will be masked as a cadet (name in pink) as soon as possible by a member of the government once you have followed the instructions below:

Update your Alliance Affiliation to "NATO" if you have not done so already.
  • Log in to CyberNations and select "Edit My Nation" from your taskbar on the left.
  • Scroll down to "Alliance Affiliation," from the drop-down menu find "NATO" or if you cannot find it, select "Specify Other," then type "NATO" into the text box.
  • Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.  You are now officially affiliated with NATO!
Update your Government Positions to maximize your economy.
  • In your taskbar to the left of your screen, click "My Government Position."
  • Select the following options: B,B,B,B,B,A,B,A,D,D.
OPTIONAL: Update your nation's flag to NATO's official flag.
  • Select "Edit My Nation" from your taskbar on the left.
  • Scroll down to "National Flag."  From the drop-down menu, select "NATO."
  • Select "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
You are now displaying the official flag of NATO in-game.  Be proud of what that flag represents; it took a long time to get the ability to do what you just did (very few alliances have ever been able to have their flags displayed in-game, and being able to do so is an earned privilege).
Now that you have updated your nation, you will be receiving more income and will be associated with NATO any time someone sees you post in-game.
Since you are a protected citizen of NATO, you only need to have 20% of your citizen count in soldiers -- you do not want more as they just rack up the bills without necessity.  Additionally, do not buy more than 100 tech or 10 land -- you won't be needing more than that right now.

IMPORTANT: Do not change your nation's resources or else it will be difficult to be placed in a full NATO trade circle.  If you have changed resources please report on this thread when your next available resource change occurs.  Your first improvements should always be a Harbor and Foreign Ministry.  You will need them to set up your trades and to receive your graduation bonus!

IMPORTANT: While you are a cadet, you may not conduct any raids or engage in any wars (unless specifically and explicitly ordered to do so).  Also, for 30 days after your graduation, you must request permission from the Secretary of Defense to conduct raids.

IMPORTANT: You have two weeks to complete all of the CAT lessons.  After that time, you will be sent a message with a link to this thread asking you to complete the lessons.  If you still have not completed the lessons in 10 days after being reminded, you will be failed out of the CAT.  However, there will be exceptions granted due to special circumstances.

Now, with all of that over with, I'm going to run you through training to help you learn game mechanics and earn some startup money:

The CAT training is conducted on Google Forms.  There are a total of seven lessons.  You can complete the training at your own pace as long as you finish all of them in two weeks from now.

The links for each of the CAT lessons are below.  Please post in this thread when you have completed your lessons so we can officially graduate you and make you a full NATO member!

Don't hesitate to let us know if you have questions or issues.  We are here to help!
