NATO-SSSW18 PIAT

Quote:Article I: Sovereignty

In the signing of this treaty, it must be clear that both organizations and their members will remain sovereign.

Article II: Nonaggression

No member nation of either alliance will declare war on any member nation of the other, provide aid, be it military, money, technology, or knowledge, to enemies of the other, or commit acts of espionage against the other. In addition, neither alliance will attempt to block the advances of the other towards suitable partners confirmed or believed to the best evidence available to be of legal age.

Article III: Friendship

The signatory alliances and their members will treat each other with as much respect and decency as they would show one of their own members. Healthy debate and discussion as well as constructive criticism are not restricted, but alliance members are expected to show tact and consideration by going through the proper channels when addressing a concern. From time to time both alliances are encouraged to inform the other about the best places to go to congregate with attractive friendship prospects.

Article IV: Aid

Should one signatory alliance become in need of monetary assistance, it should be expected that the other signatory alliance will be willing to contribute to help meet the demands of said alliance. If an alliance requires assistance in 'tapping that $@!', militarily speaking, neither is required to grant that assistance, but both would be seen as 'missing out on that $@!'. In addition, both alliances will strive to be open and accommodating and coordinate trading and number circles.

Article V: Intelligence

If either alliance gets reliable word that she is in fact not 18, they will share that word immediately. Sharing of information will be conducted in the proper and private channels, unless jumping up and down and yelling 'She's not 18' is an appropriate action.

Article VI: Withdrawal

If either signatory alliance feels that this treaty has been unjustly violated and diplomatic negotiations have not offered any sort of resolution, they have the right to withdraw from the treaty by the express will of their respective decision making bodies. Notification of withdrawal must be given to the other signatory within forty-eight hours. Should this treaty be revoked by either alliance, a 42 hour grace period begins in which neither alliance may declare war on the other, after which no such rules apply.

Quote:Protocols for Espionage and Armed Conflict Eradication

between

TORN and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization

Preamble

The Order of Righteous Nations and The North Atlantic Treaty Organization:

Aiming at the achievement of a just, lasting and comprehensive peace;

Aspiring to develop friendly relations and co-operation between them;

Seeking a pathway that will lead to full and frank communication between them;

Desiring to ensure lasting security for both Alliances and in particular to avoid espionage and the threat or use of force between them;

Deciding to establish peace between them in accordance with these Protocols for Espionage and Armed Conflict Eradication;

Have agreed as follows:

Article I – ESTABLISHMENT OF PEACE

Peace is hereby established between TORN and NATO (the "signatory alliances") effective from the exchange of the instruments of ratification of these protocols.

Article II – SOVEREIGNITY

They recognize and will respect each other's right to live in peace within their respective alliances. They will develop good neighborly relations of co-operation between them to ensure lasting security. They will refrain from espionage and the threat or use of force against each other and will settle all disputes between them by peaceful means.

Article III – COMMUNICATION

b.) The signatory alliances shall encourage and promote effective methods of dispute resolution between the signatory alliances and their respective member nations.

c.) The signatory alliances commit to frequent and recurring dialog on each others forums and IRC channels. This commitment is based on the view that open access to each others communication channels is essential to the rapid and efficient inter-alliance communication. This shall include communication at the alliance leadership level where on an as needed basis, representatives of the highest decision making bodies of the signatory alliances will jointly meet to discuss issues of mutual concern. This shall be in addition to routine diplomatic communications and the regular communication between normal member nations.

d.) Government members of both signatory alliances will receive operator status in each other's public IRC channels.

Article IV – OVERT HOSTILE ACTIVITIES

Neither signatory alliance will knowingly engage in the use of sanctions against member nations of the other signatory alliance without formal, written permission from the other signatory alliance. Neither signatory alliance shall endorse, fund, approve or engage in military action against the other signatory alliance. If an individual member nation of either signatory alliance is found in violation of this article, it shall be directed to offer peace and reparations equivalent to 1.5 times the total damages inflicted. Though not required, defending nations shall be encouraged to defer reprisal actions until a diplomatic solution can be reached.

a.) Should the offending member nation of a signatory alliance refuse to offer peace and agree on reparations terms, said member nation will be declared a rogue and will no longer be offered the protection of either signatory alliance.

b.) If a signatory alliance violates this article, such activity shall be considered an act of war.

Article V – COVERT HOSTILE ACTIVITIES

Neither signatory alliance shall knowingly endorse, fund, approve or engage in espionage or other covert action against the other signatory alliance. Both signatory alliances agree not to actively or passively recruit member nations of the other alliance for the purpose of committing espionage. If either signatory alliance collects intelligence regarding a security breach or a credible threat concerning the other signatory alliance, the acquiring signatory alliance will convey all pertinent information in their possession to the other signatory alliance.

a.) Should a member nation of a signatory alliance violate this article, said member nation will be declared a rogue and will no longer be offered the protection of either signatory alliance.

b.) If a signatory Alliance violates this article, such activity shall be considered an act of war.

Article VI – RECIPROCAL DEFENSE

Neither signatory alliance is required to grant requests for military assistance to the other. However, barring other conflicting treaty obligations, should such a request be made through official channels by one alliance, the other alliance is highly encouraged to discuss and reach a consensus decision in their highest decision making body on whether or not to grant military assistance and if granted, in what form that military assistance shall be made.

Article VII – RECOVERY AID

In the event of conflict involving only one of the signatory alliances, upon cessation of hostilities and barring other conflicting treaty obligations, the non-combatant signatory alliance shall encourage its individual member nations to voluntarily provide recovery aid to individual member nations of the war-torn signatory alliance.

In the event of conflict involving both of the signatory alliances, upon cessation of hostilities and barring other conflicting treaty obligations, both signatory alliances shall encourage its individual member nations to voluntarily provide recovery aid to individual member nations of the war-torn signatory alliances regardless of alliance membership.

Article VIII – CIVILITY

Both signatory alliances shall be resolute in their insistence that their respective members remain polite and civil to each other at all times, especially in public forums and other public venues.

Article IX – RATIFICATION

MDP Between NATO and TAB

Quote:Preamble

All parties involved in this treaty are to remain sovereign and shall not be governed by the other party. They shall remain separate unless stated in another treaty.

The main purpose of this treaty is to show friendship and good relations with the other party. Breaches of this treaty shall have no material consequences but shall however been seen as a breach of friendship and togetherness of these two alliances.

Article 1: Non-Aggression

Both nations agree not to attack, or commit any actions of espionage on the other party. Such actions are regarded as a breach of this treaty.

Article 2: Intelligence

Both parties agree to share all relevant information of worth. It is agreed that this information shall not be falsified, or changed in any way, to mislead the other party. Such falsifications shall be regarded as a breach of treaty.

Article 3: Defense

Both parties agree that an attack on either party mandates the military aid of the other, should it be requested. This clause is not relevant if an undersigned party is the aggressor in a conflict. Should this be the case, military aid is purely optional.

Article 4: Aid

Both parties shall agree that they will endeavor to contribute financial aid to the other party. Such aid must be within the limits of reality, and not without reason. Such requests for financial aid shall be placed in the other party's embassy and the leader shall have to acknowledge the aid request. An acceptable reason must be stated, or the requested aid will not be given. Also, aid requests may be rejected, though the other party must have a valid reason. Any aid requests made under false pretences shall be viewed as a breach of this treaty.

Aid can be given to the other party, even if it breaches an NAP. This treaty overrules all NAP's.

Article 5: Cancellation

To cancel this treaty at any time, one party must post a thread on the other party's forums and get acknowledgment from the other party, or post a thread on the official CN forums. Following cancellation, a 48-hour grace period shall begin, during which neither party may breach any of the above listed terms.

North Aqua Mostly Harmless Agreement

Quote:In the spirit of peace and prosperity, the Mostly Harmless Alliance (hereby known as the MHA) and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (hereby known as NATO), make the following Declarations:

For the Purpose of this agreement:

"Member" refers only to a Nation Ruler who displays either MHA or NATO in their Alliance Affiliation.

"Signatory Alliance" refers to either the MHA or NATO.

"Outside party" refers to a singular non Member nation, a singular non-Signatory Alliance, an officially or unofficially aligned group of Alliances, or unofficially aligned group of nations.

The First Declaration

The signatories of these Declarations hereby commit themselves as independent Alliances to a promise of friendship, non-aggression, and defense as stated below. This treaty, unless revoked in the Sixth Declaration, shall henceforth be the MHA and NATO's sworn agreement to maintain peaceful and reciprocal relations.

The Second Declaration

Article I

All members of the MHA and NATO enter into a commitment of non-aggression. No nation of either Alliance shall declare war with the intention to attack, commit any form of aggressive assault, permit attacks against the other Signatory Alliance, threaten or abuse members in public or private channels, commit espionage against a Signatory Alliance, use Team Senate positions to sanction trades, and/or assist an enemy of either Alliance through military or financial aid.

Article II

The leaders of both Signatory Alliances agree that if one of their Members violates Article I of the Second Declaration by aggressive assault, this attack will be condemned within 24 hours notice of it occurring. The member attacked agrees not to retaliate during this 24-hour period, to allow for the appropriate diplomatic talks. The leaders of both Alliances agree that if one of their members violates Article I of the Second Declaration, then reparations shall be paid at no less than 150% of the damage suffered.

Article III

The leaders of both signatory Alliances agree that if one of their members violates Article I of the Second Declaration by permitting attacks, threatening or abusing members in public or private channels, committing espionage against a Signatory Alliance, using Team Senate positions to sanction trades, and/or assisting an enemy of either Alliance through military or financial aid; then this attack will be condemned within 24 hours notice of it occurring. The member responsible shall be punished according to his or her Alliance's Charter, which may include Expulsion from the Alliance. The attacked Alliance may also submit a written Recommendation for Punishment of this member, up to and including Expulsion, 24 hours after the attack has occurred.

Article IV

In the event of the Signatories agreeing to cancel the Declarations of Harmlessness, they shall enter into a cooling-off period, whereby Articles I, II, and III of the Second Declaration shall remain. However, reparations for attack shall be reduced to 100% of the damages, and Recommendations of Punishment after an attack will no longer be accepted. 48 hours after the cooling-off period all Declarations, including Article IV of the Second Declaration, shall be null and void.

The Third Declaration

Article I

In the event that one Signatory Alliance is attacked by an Outside Party, or has reasonable proof of imminent attacks from an Outside Party, the other Signatory Alliance may offer political, financial, or military assistance to Mutually Defend the members of the attacked Signatory Alliance, and attempt to cease all hostilities. Any attacks upon nations defending the Signatory Alliance will be considered an act of war by the Outside Party.

Article II

In the event that one Signatory Alliance requires assistance in an aggressive war against a Non-Signatory Aqua Alliance, both Signatories must come to an agreement on the scale and/or type of assistance, which includes political, financial, and military aid. Both Signatories must also agree on the necessity of such a war, and will attempt to find alternative solutions prior to enacting Article II.

Article III

Both Signatory Alliances agree to offer their support as Peace Negotiators, in the event of war with a non-Signatory Alliance, or outside party. This role shall be entrusted to fairly negotiate an end to a conflict, payment of reparations, and apologies if required. The sole purpose of Article III of the Third Declaration is to reach a fair and balanced conclusion to conflict and to cease any hostilities against a Signatory Alliance.

The Fourth Declaration

Article I

All Members of either Signatory Alliance hereby agree to conduct themselves with civility, maturity and diplomacy in all communications. This includes in public and private forums. At all times members will remain respectful of this agreement and their promise to honor the spirit of peace and prosperity. Healthy, mature debate is encouraged, however, as both Signatory Alliances agree to promote freedom of speech and thought within their members.

Article II

In the event a member wishes to cancel a Trade Agreement with a member of the other Signatory Alliance, they agree to provide a 24-hour notice of their Intention to Cancel Trade, to allow the affected nation time to organize another trade partner. Neither Signatory Alliance will encourage their members to request payment for trades with members of the other Signatory. Both Alliances agree to share information on their member's resources and trade agreements, for the purpose of furthering their gaining agreements and strengthening relations.

Article III

If either Signatory Alliance receives sensitive information regarding the other Signatory Alliance, they agree to share said information and the source of information, with the intent to protect the security and honor of the Alliances.

The Fifth Declaration

In the interest of secure trade and the peace and harmony of the Aqua trading sphere it has been recognized that it is beneficial to both Signatory Alliances to support each other for the Aqua senate. One week prior to senate elections both alliances shall announce their running nations. The MHA is authorized two running nations and NATO is authorized one running nation. All votes from both alliances shall be cast to ensure, as best possible, the victory of all three candidates. In the event the candidate for any of the three openings is not selected one week prior that Alliance forfeits their position and it shall go to the other Alliance.

The Sixth Declaration

If one Signatory Alliance wishes to cancel the (NAME) at anytime, they agree to provide 48 hours notice to the other Alliance. During that time, both Alliances agree to hold diplomatic discussions with the intent of maintaining the treaty. If, however, the Canceling Signatory Alliance still wishes to cancel the treaty at the end of the 48 hours, the Declarations of Harmlessness will become void. At this time, a public announcement will be made and both Alliances enter into a 48-hour cooling-off period of non-aggression, as per Article IV of the Second Declaration. After this period, all Declarations shall be null and void.

NATO - Valhalla MDoAP

Quote:I. Preamble

Effective this day, June 3rd, 2008, the following alliances, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Valhalla, are strengthening the bonds of our mutual respect by entering into this jointly agreed pact.

II. Nonaggression and Discourse

All members of NATO and Valhalla enter into a commitment of peace towards each other. No nation of either Alliance shall declare war with the intention to attack, commit any form of aggressive assault, threaten or abuse members in public or private channels or commit espionage against each other. Both alliances agree not to assist an enemy of either Alliance through military or financial means during periods of alliance level conflict.

III. Defense and War

A – In the event that either signatory comes under attack; this pact activates a Declaration of War for the other signatory against the aggressor alliance or nation.

B – Assistance is defined as military, economic, intelligence, diplomatic, and all other forms of aid the signatories are able to provide.

C – Signatories shall have the option, but not the obligation, to engage in offensive warfare alongside the other signatory or to aid the signatory in ways economic or otherwise.

D – If either alliance would like to ask the other for military assistance in an offensive action 72hr prior notification is desirable in order to give either side time to discuss and plan for a joint effort.

IV. Diplomatic and Economic Assistance

A – The signatories recognize the mutual benefits provided by economic cooperation and may engage in voluntary programs designated for economic assistance or trade.

B – Should either signatory become involved in war, it is the duty of other signatory to offer diplomatic aid toward the peaceful resolution of that war, should such be requested by the signatory engaged in hostilities.

C – The signatories pledge their diplomatic support to one another and will retain unity in all public discourse.

V. Termination of MDoAP

Either signatory may terminate this pact following a period of no less than 72 hours following the notification of the other signatory. Termination removes the former signatory from all terms and obligations of this pact and will not occur until after the aforementioned 72-hour period has passed.
